HUGHES, John Stuart (1858-1911+)
Born 25 April 1858 at Eccles House, Chapel-en-le-Frith, Derbyshire, England, the second son of Daniel Hughes, paper manufacturer, and his wife Millie, nee Gordon. He married on 31 October 1885 at the Wesleyan Church, Halifax, Halifax County, Nova Scotia to Laliah M. Matthews, daughter of John Matthews, joiner, and his wife Nancy.
